After a mini briefing and introduction, you will set out on your trip to Kidepo Valley National Park. You will drive heading towards the North and make your first stop in Luweero Triangle for a purchase of fresh fruits and refreshment. The place is also a historical monument, you will know first hand that the brutal massacre – the 1980’s Uganda Civil War that ushered the ruling government into power occurred in that place. You will then proceed through Nakasongola and enjoy a beautiful view of the extensive Savannah grasslands plus the long-horned cattle in the famous Nakasongola cattle corridor.

The next stop you will make while on your safari adventure drive will be in Gulu town, where you will have your lunch in one of the best hostels. You will hear a couple of interesting tales about the town – such as the Konyi massacres and abductions. You will then continue to Kitgum town where you will spend the night in a comfortable lodging.

Day 2 - Leave Kitgum & arrive at Kidepo Forest National Park

After having breakfast in the morning, you will continue your journey to the craved Kidepo Valley National Park. Upon arriving at the park, you will have your lunch and afterwards set out for a game drive through Karamoja’s prized wilderness. While driving through the Narus Valley, you will be able to spot herds of elephants, buffalos, giraffes, cheetahs, leopards, bush-babies, zebras and many more. It is the perfect moment to take photographs and our guide drives at a snail pace on purpose. It’s part of his job to have you enjoy and capture the moments.

As the evening wanes, you will return to your lodging, freshen up and have your dinner later. You will then have a sleep over in one of the best lodges in Kidepo – one of Africa’s most prized wildernesses and a celebrated wildlife safari adventure destinations.

Day 3 - An entire day with Kidepo’s National Park wildlife

You will wake up to the mind-blowing beauty of the virgin Kidepo wilderness, barely touched by modernity and Western civilization. After a delicious breakfast, your wildlife safari adventure will continue as you set out for another game drive.

You will drive through forests, hills, open Savannahs, rocky outcrops and small mountain-like mounds. The slow drive will allow you time to spot the sought after wildlife; lions, zebras, cheetahs, oribis, giraffes, leopards, and to take-in beautiful scenery. You will also drive to Kanangoroko hot springs which is the most permanent source of water in the park.

After your lunch break, you will embark on another safari adventure excursion – a cultural/native tour to meet the IK people who live in the Monrungole Mountains. This is a small tribe of about 100,000 people who are among the indigenous natives in north-eastern Uganda. The other people to see are the native Karamajongs – nomads. This is a very peculiar tribe that has stuck to the old ways and shunned civilization and the ways of the ‘white man’. Their pride is their cattle, they live or die for them and their worth is determined by the number of animals that one has. They are an intriguing tribe of wilderness people that are worth encountering. As dusk creeps in, you will return to your lodging and have a sumptuous dinner before retiring to bed for your body to recuperate for the next day’s safari adventure experience.

Day 4 - End of Tour – travelling back to Kampala

You will have breakfast at 8:00am and then set out on a drive back to Kampala. Because of the park’s remote location, you will depart from it a bit early in order to arrive in Kampala before dusk. Your guide will be diligent in pointing out all the notable attractions you could have missed while driving to Kidepo. You will have lunch enroute and reach Kampala in the evening.
