Murchison Falls National Park is Uganda’s largest National Park measuring to about 3893 square kilometres (1,503 sq mi). The Park is located in the North-western Uganda, sprawling inland from Lake Albert’s shores, around the white Nile up to Karuma falls. Murchison Falls National Park offers a rich variety of flora and fauna. The Park features open savannah woodland and vegetation. It has over 450 bird species including the rare shoe-billed stork, the dwarf kingfisher, white-thighed hornbill, great blue turaco and the Goliath heron.

The Park is also a habitat to over 76 mammal species among which is; herds of African buffalos, lions, African Bush elephants, the endangered Rothschild’s giraffe, many crocodiles, warthogs, chimpanzees, baboons and antelopes. Day 1 - Leave Kampala for Murchison Falls National Park – Track rhinos en-route

The ATP-Tours driver who doubles as a guide will pick you from your hotel in Kampala at 7:00am after your breakfast. After giving you a briefing on how your tour will run , the two of you will then set off for the eminent Murchison Falls National Park – Uganda’s largest national park. You will drive towards the North-western Uganda and make your first stop at the infamous Luweero Triangle – the place where the very brutal 1980’s massacres that ushered the ruling government into power occurred. You will buy an assortment of fresh fruits and refreshments from this place and then continue with your journey.

You will make your next stop in Nakasongola at Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary for rhino tracking. You will spend between 1-2 hours tracking down the black and white rhinos. After an encounter with the rhinos, you will make your last stop before reaching Murchison Falls in Masindi. It is here that you will have a savoury lunch comprising of local delicacies.


Upon arriving at the park, you will be thrilled at the sight of seemingly stubborn baboons. They line up in the trees along the road, grunting and making awkward sounds while attempting to grapple anything that captures their attention. You will then drive up to the top of the falls where you will enjoy a great view of the falls. It is stunningly-beautiful to watch the soothing yet aggressive waterfalls raging, squeezing through and tumbling over massive rocks.
You will then drive to your choice lodging/accommodation for dinner and sleepover. At your request, a camp fire can be made for you to dine over and enjoy the great outdoors.

Day 2 - Game drive & boat ride – an activity-pilled day at Murchison Falls National Park

You will have your breakfast and head out for a game drive through the park’s mini jungles. You will be greeted by the African sunrise stroking your body with its gentle heat. The slow drive through Murchison Falls National Park will give you chance to spot a massive number of wildlife including; giraffes, lions, buffalos, waterbucks, antelopes, elephants and even the Uganda Kob. You will be able to capture the captivating scenery of this great wildlife on your camera. The game drive will end in the early afternoon allowing you sometime to have lunch and then head out for a boat cruise.


While at the boat trip, you will sail along the Nile enjoying a generous view of crocodiles, hippos, elephants, buffalos, and many more animals. You will also see many water birds among which is the; Shoebill, fish eagle and storks. You have a chance to sail up close to the Murchison Falls – one of the most powerful falls in the world. The sound of the massive falls is deafening and the sight mind-blowing. You continue hiking to the top and see as much as you want to see.


Murchison Falls National Park is a reflection and genuine of display of Uganda’s splendour and natural beauty. On the banks of river Nile you are able to see the Nile crocodiles basking in the sun, yawning and dosing off, somewhere down you see a group of hippos frolicking and herds of elephants stomping the ground with their broad feet and others cooling off. You have your dinner and retire to your lodging at the end of the day

Day 3

After your breakfast in the early morning, you will have another game drive through the park after which you will head out for your return to Kampala. Your safari will end with the ATP-Tours driver/guide driving you to Entebbe airport to catch your flight.
